Marcin Sikorski is believed to be the most outstanding Polish chamber pianist of the young generation. His performance is highly acclaimed both by the audience and critics. Marcin graduated in 1996 from the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music (Katowice, Poland) as a student of Maria Szwajger-Kulakowska. In 1999 he completed a doctoral degree in chamber music at the Academy of Music (Poznan), where he has been an Assistant Professor in chamber music and an accompanying pianist. He studied piano and chamber music in master classes and music courses conducted by Isaac Stern, Leon Fleisher, Bruno Canino, Emanuel Ax, Erica Frieser and the members of the LaSalle, Juilliard, Emerson and Guarneri Quartets. Marcin Sikorski has given chamber music recitals in Europe, USA and Russia. He also performed as a soloist with orchestras in Poland. He participated in several international music festivals, such as Schleswig-Holstein Music Festival, Festival Pontino (Italy), New Music Marathon (Prague), Bratislava Music Festival, Polish Piano Music Festival (S?upsk). In 2001 he took part in the Isaac Stern Chamber Music Workshop at Carnegie Hall in New York and played a concert there. Marcin is a 1st Prize winner at chamber music competitions in Paris and Gdansk and was Laureate in Pörtschach, Vercelli and Kraków. As an accompanist he has won awards at several international violin competitions such as the Szymanowski International Violin Competition. He was an official accompanist at the 2006 Hannover International Violin Competition, the 1996, 2001 and 2006 Wienawski International Violin Competitions in Poznan and the International Violin Competition Torun 2007. The CD with live recordings from the last Wieniawski Competition with 1st Prize winner, Agata Szymczewska, was awarded the „FRYDERYK 2006” Prize.
