Alexei Grynyuk was born in Kyiv , Ukraine , and completed his
studies at the Special Music School and Kyiv Conservatoire under
Natalia Gridneva and Prof. Valery Kozlov. In 1996 he won a scholarship
to the Royal Academy of Music, studying with Prof. Hamish Milne.
From the age of thirteen – when he won the first prize at the
Dyagilev All-Soviet-Union Music Competition in Moscow – Alexei
has had many successes at international competitions, most recently
winning first prizes at the Vladimir Horowitz International Competition
in Kyiv and the Shanghai International Competition in China .
Alexei
has been highly acclaimed in the press worldwide, giving numerous
recitals and concerto performances with orchestras. He has performed
in the most of European countries, USA, Morocco, Mexico and Japan,
and has been broadcast on the Ukrainian National Radio and Television,
the Gdansk Radio (Poland), Russian Television ‘Ostankino',
Moroccan Television, Frankfurt-am-Main Radio (Germany), WGBH Radio
(USA) and Chinese Television. The venues included Wigmore Hall
and South Bank Centre in London, Salle Cortot and Salle Gaveau
in Paris, The Great Hall of Moscow Conservatoire. Also Alexei
has appeared in many international festivals, such as Chopin Festival
in Duszniki (Poland), Newport Music Festival (USA), Musical Kremlin
(Moscow), Music and More (Malta), Festival ‘Cervantino' (Mexico).
Alexei's concert activities are constantly growing. His near-future
engagements include recitals at the South Bank Centre, London,
and in the piano series at the Metropolitan Museum in New York
among many others.
Alexei
is a Member of the Artistic Committee of the Benjamin Britten
